“Steering clients past the obstacles that governments put in their way is the most satisfying part of my work at Serlin Haley.  For me it’s personal.  My grandfather was mayor of a good-sized city, and all my life I’ve heard him recount tales of fighting to get his own city to stop blocking progress.

“I joined Serlin Haley during college – and returned after law school – because, frankly, I love what we do here.  Every day is different, and few are spent tied to a desk.  Instead, I spend my days at the State House, City Hall, or hitting the road to visit clients or to represent them at conferences around the country.  We truly work as a team, and every client is on my mind every day.

“And that’s really the heart of it:  at Serlin Haley, we get to know not only our clients’ issues, but their business goals and objectives.  So armed, we watch constantly for looming issues or potential policy shifts that could either stymie their progress or point them to new opportunities.  Clients trust us to be vigilant, so they instead can focus on running their businesses.  With every project, we’re with them at the beginning and we stay with them through to the end.

“As one of the younger members of our team, I like to think I bring a fresh perspective to challenges that my colleagues here have tackled for many years.  Politics is politics, they say, but with more technology at hand, more information at our fingertips, and more tools like social media for putting messages across, it is in some ways a very different world today.  Our approach to government relations – and, indeed, how we define it – has to evolve as well.”

Before joining Serlin Haley, Allie worked in public relations and project support roles for a Boston strategic consulting firm.  Allie is a 2012 graduate of Elon University with a Bachelor of Arts in political science and a minor in international studies.  She received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School, where she served as the Senior Managing Editor of the Suffolk University Law Review.  Allie is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and the Boston Bar Association.
